Bachchan: This is the 18th time BA has lost my bags!
India’s Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, from Toronto, wrote to his fans, via his blog: “[I’m] in the room in a Hotel in Toronto and desperate. All my bags that I personally checked in and identified at the base of the aircraft in London, all lost! This is the 18th time British Airways has done this to me and family. Do not be surprised Torontoans, if tomorrow morning you find me running somewhat temporarily clad, on the streets. LIVID !! More later. Love”
Tom Glocer, the CEO of Reuters, wrote in defense of British Airways and Terminal 5 on his blog a while ago, following the “pretty savage” treatment BA had in the British press over baggage lost at the new terminal.
Glocer wrote: “I have been flying in and out of Terminal 5 now for weeks and the experience is a vast improvement. The terminal itself is architecturally compelling, clearly marked and reasonably efficient…There are many good things in the UK worthy of praise – it is time to celebrate them.”
The FT’s Management Blog, which picked up Glocer’s note, also added that Glocer’s optimistic view seemed to be “backed up by the news that BA has overcome the impact of the Terminal 5 debacle to significantly improve punctuality over the past two months.”
Does that mean BA has sorted out all its problems? Well, it definitely hasn’t for India’s Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, who had his luggage misplaced from BA.
From Toronto Bachchan wrote to his fans, via his blog: “[I’m] in the room in a Hotel in Toronto and desperate. Apparently things are being sorted out now and Bachchan was not wondering naked around town.
But the real question is: Can one trust BA with their luggage any more or is a desperate case?
Well, you can never tell, but I doubt BA will be seeing any other Bollywood star on their aircrafts anytime soon.
